• This is an archive of ASSEMblerGames.com from June 07th, 2019, all content should be here (minus threads with none english titles, we'll add later.) you cannot login here as this is a clone and your personal info doesn't exist in this database.

    Brought to you by ObscureGamers.

0th bit/Everdrive forums aren't fully working due to wrong id's from importer. (fixing just takes time) 0th bit posts will be added. Only major issue is the importer copied html/classes which show so need to find a way to strip/convert. this was caused from converting html rips back to SQL. This archive doesn't contain emails/private messages/ip's as we could only convert what google could see/crawl.

<blockquote class="quoteContainer"><div class="quote">Fortunately some good news here.... we have been able to re-create the majority of the forums from xboxexperts backup. We've (Me/xbins and Crunchbite, the x-link kai dev) been working on it for nearly a year, and most of the work is done, just keeps getting pushed back because of other higher priority stuffs.

But it will go live this year. You can see a old kinda broken version of it here -

<a class="externalLink" href="https://xbox-scene.xbins.org/forums/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">https://xbox-scene.xbins.org/forums/

My goal was to open up registration again, have users petition to reclaim a old account. This can be done for assembler as well. Someone just needs to do a full scrape now, and then we can rebuild the forums and take the assemblergames.com domain when it expires. Its not optimal...but its the best thing we can do since Kevin has decided he doesn't give a shit anymore.
</div> That sounds great! Xbox-scene was one of the earliest forums I made an account for. It would be very cool to get back into that.

Anything I can do to help?

<blockquote class="quoteContainer"><div class="quote">There's no use in trying to offer to keep this site open. Clearly the owner doesn't care and doesn't want to keep it open. I just hope the same passionate people either start a new forum soon or merge into the other many great communities out there. With all due respect let this place die...
</div> I see nothing wrong with making attempts to find a new owner. What could it hurt? If the site dies, it dies oh well. No harm in trying.

Btw ur pic is scary. you were so hard to beat with 0 Rings before Doctor Robotnik :0

This is all so sudden..I guess I just want to say thank you all for making this such a great place over the years. I really mean that. ASSEMblergames was a source of invaluable information to me and it always will be, even if it's just from the Wayback Machine archives.

I wonder, ASSEMbler (Kevin), what are your plans for after this forum ends? Will you still find some way to keep in touch with the friends / collectors you met on here over the years?

Also, if you're reading this, I would seriously consider passing the site over to Bad_Ad84. I can't think of anyone better to take on that responsibility.

I remember finding this forum when I was in high school computer class. I got to see a lot of cool hardware/software I wouldn't normally have access to and even had that sweet TEST PS2 for awhile.

I wish there was a happier ending (or no ending at all) to the site, but honestly I can't say I'm surprised. I don't ever remember the admin ever being particularly present. I sincerely wish him good fortune and fulfillment in his personal life. To the rest of you (if anyone here even still remembers me), thanks for the good times.

Thanks for having me. I got to see many cool releases, on here and learn much about prototypes and the ilk.

Be well, you did a good job running this place, but some things dont last forever.

So yeah, now that we know this forum won't be lost thanks to some cool people (even if Kev pulls the plug), it's worth just coming here:

<blockquote class="quoteContainer"><div class="quote">It looks like the AssemblerGames.com domain expires in about 3 years &gt;_&gt;
</div>And it may be that just like the x-s scenario, year after year will go by hoping to get the domain only to have it be renewed every time. We may be playing this waiting game forever.

Good news however! Crunchbite just confirmed with me he will try to finish the x-s backup this week, and he is currently scraping a full dump of assembler, so we will be able to do this for assembler as well.

In pursuit of that...I would very much like to open registration up to users who can prove their assembler usernames. If you would like to preserve your username, please do the following -

Generate a unique serial/gift card # here - <a href="http://generator.voucherify.io/#" target="_blank" class="externalLink" rel="nofollow">http://generator.voucherify.io/# (click gift card / serial template then hit generate, choose one and copy). SAVE THIS! email it to yourself, multiple backups, whatever you gotta do, if you loose this I won't be able to guarantee giving you access to your old username!

Then PM me with the subject "assembler backup username reservation" and paste me the serial #. I will store everyone's response, and when the backup is live I will on a per-request basis grant users access to their old usernames.

Note - I cannot guarantee any timelines as to when this will be live.

I missed the mod purge a couple of years ago so I was surprised to see what's happened to the forum since then. As long as there's a backup of the forum for informational purposes I think it's best to start fresh somewhere else. I'll see you guys around the net.
